The Buna/Monowitz concentration camp, like many others, had an orchestra made up of prisoners, which had to play at the gate when the inmates marched out to the construction site in the morning and when they returned in the evening. In addition, the camp orchestra had to give concerts for the SS and prisoner functionaries on many free Sundays.
